A Trip to the Beauty Parlor

Friday morning was a mother-daughter adventure to the beauty parlor! Our fabulous hair stylist, Meagan, worked with both of us at the same time. She was great, and we had a blast! We are so sad, because this could be Heather's last hurrah with her, before moving away. Heather wants to come back and see Meagan's baby girl, Paisley, due in December! CONGRATULATIONS to her! Heather brought along the veil, earrings, clips, bobby pins, so we could get an idea of where we would be placing everything. Blondes sure do have more fun! I'm not sure how to get the pictures in the order I want, but at least I tried! Enjoy!

How many blondes does it take to turn on a lightbulb?

What a process!
This was actually before...

...then after! Voila!

With our fabulous hair stylist!

Cheesing for the camera! Can you tell they're excited?

Becoming beautiful takes WORK!
Heather's before...

COUNTDOWN!

Sunday, August 24, 2008

The last one!

Heather's final shower was held today, Sunday, August 24th, at Paul's former church Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church. They were so sweet to throw her one! She got some wonderful gifts and she always has a blast. I just so happened to start this blog while Heather was getting married, so almost all the blogs are about her! I'm just excited for her, and Heather Mania dominating my blog will soon subside. You would never know I have 3 other children! Ha!

She takes so much after me...her mouth is ALWAYS open! It's either talking or some food is involved!A little blurry, but she loved the cool wrapping paper on this gift.

Beautiful crystal candlesticks + a goofy smile.

Awana Conference in Huntsville

Saturday, August 23rd, the Awana Conference was held in Huntsville. Fifteen from Union Grove attended! We had a great day of helpul meetings, good food, and fellowship. Our program starts on September 10th, and I teach with the blonde bombshell in the blue shirt, Shannon. We teach the T & T girls (grades 3-6). We're really looking forward to upcoming year! Shannon happens to be my work-out buddy...she keeps me accountable! That's all...short and sweet! C-ya later!

Evening Out with the "Young" Couples

Friday night with the young(er) couples + Christopher turned out to be a very enjoyable evening. Dinner at Beauregards was delicious and of course I ate too much! From there we headed to the bowling alley for some harmless fun. I, watching on the sidelines (a party pooper, I know!), rooted the fabulous bowlers to strikes and spares. My nails, the reason for being the cheerleader, remained unbroken...all for the upcoming wedding weekend.

Pigging out at Beauregards in Huntsville
Such a lovely couple : )
The 'not-so-baby' of the family.
My scoop.
Kendra, with perfect form.

....and even better form, here's Becca!
That was definitely a strike!

Union Grove Bridal Shower

Heather has been really fortunate with very generous people giving her showers! This shower, given by Paul's current church, Union Grove, was wonderful. Heather got some wonderful gifts, and I know she appreciates all the love and support. Heather's next shower, which I will post when I get the pictures from Heather, was in Dallas, and Steve's co-workers graciously hosted that one. This experience for her has been such a blessing, and I am excited about her new journey.

She is so tired of the Chicken Dance, that she has banned it from the wedding, but not from my card! Ha Ha!
She is MUCH too excited over a crock-pot!!
Heather had a beautiful shower at our church in Alabama.

loads of wonderful gifts

Heather w/ Destiny and Kaylie...they made her this card.

Yup, even Steve got to be there for all the festivities

Our friend, Sherrie, made this beautiful cake w/ edible shells made out of chocolate!!! MMM!!! She is making the wedding cake very similar to this.

My sweet baby girl, all grown up and about to get hitched!
Last Saturday night was a very interesting night! Stephanie Johnson, Heather's Matron of Honor, her sister Kimberly, and longtime friend Jessica arrived Friday night from Andalusia, Alabama. Beth, (Steve's mom) and Jill (his sister) arrived around lunch time on Saturday from Ft. Walton. My two daughters-in-law, Lauren and MeLydia came that afternoon as well. Saturday turned out to be an ordeal and lots of running around in preparation for the shower that evening at 7:30. Stephanie did a wonderful job planning this and we all had such a blast! The shower was held in the banquet room at Ruby Tuesday. Heather got some beautiful lingerie, and also some unmentionables... :0 Heather also received some reading material that will be extremely helpful...for the honeymoon. Ahhh! Sunday afternoon, lonely again, but Heather and I cleaned and napped! Hopefully, I will have more to blog, because Heather has 3 showers in the upcoming WEEK! Check back for more goodies!
